Horizons Behavioral Consultants, LLC began out of a need for more highly qualified & effective behavioral interventionists (BCBAs) in the Colorado area dedicated to providing quality ABA services to persons with autism spectrum disorders.
Guided by the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), we design individualized treatment programs using the most modern, evidence-based and naturalistic treatment approaches available including functional communication training, natural response teaching, pivotal response training, PECS, verbal behavior, and discrete trial teaching. The goal is to empower learners with functional skills that will greatly enhance their quality of life and allow them to reach their maximum potential.
We reduce problem behaviors and teach functional communication, play skills, social skills, self-help skills, learning readiness, and vocational skills. We also conduct functional behavioral assessments and develop behavior intervention treatment plans. Our aim is to assist our clients to engage in adaptive, socially desirable behaviors in place of inappropriate or destructive behaviors. We focus on teaching skills that are the most functional (i.e. most useful) for the learner’s long term success. Using a Positive Behavioral Support approach, family members, educators, and service providers work together as a team. Parents receive on-going training and supervision in ABA principles, thereby increasing the efficacy of the treatment process as well as becoming more effective advocates for their child’s needs.
